About Us

Welcome to watercomilk.com

‘Watercomilk’ has a bilingual meaning. One stands for the short form of water, cold, and milk. These three terms stand for life, climate, and animal production. In Hindi, another meaning is the addition of milk to water. Our globe is now experiencing the most threat from global warming, causing climate change. Consequently, we are experiencing the scarcity of groundwater level, river death, alterations of agriculture system, shifting of animal habitat, etc.

As the climate is changing, the primary life resource, i.e., the water is also depriving in its quality and quantity. The high altitude region of the earth is also within the curve of this climate change. Then, how life on this earth may sustain for long.

In this context, we have to add ‘nutrition’ (milk) to our water so that water ‘health’ may sustain for all the life on this planet. From this day forward, I think we should worship our ‘Water Resources’ as we worship our ‘Goddess.’ Our small effort to save water resources and our day to day meticulous activity may excel to change human cruelty to our beloved ‘Earth.’

Another aspect will be covered which is related to the biotechnological improvement to combat the changing climate, to retain our ‘Nature’ health, for utmost production in the agro-animal sector.

I Dr. Arup Giri completed my Ph.D. in Life Sciences from Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR), DRDO, Ladakh, India. My thesis title is “Studies on trace minerals and heavy metals status in different sources of water and their bioavailability in milking cattle at high altitude.” Earlier, I have completed my M.Sc. in Zoology, Maulana Azad College, Kolkata, University of Calcutta, in 2012. After submission of my thesis, I joined as an Assistant Professor in the Life Science Department of Arni University, Kathgarh, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, India, from 20th February 2018 to 28th February 2019. I also worked as the Senior Research Fellow in an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) funded project in the DRDO-Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR), Chandigarh for one and half years.

I have published forty-five research articles in different peer-reviewed journals. I have also published three book chapters, two training manuals, one technical bulletin, and filed one patent. The citations of my article’s indices of Google Scholar reached 213 since the year 2016. H-index (H index is the largest number h such that h publications have at least h citations): 09 and i10-index (A journal’s total number of published papers with at least ten citations): 08.
